Galaxie Gathering Number 23 was held on Sunday, July 19, 2009 beginning at 9:30 am as part of the Ford & Mercury Restorer's Club of America "Dearborn 2009" Car Show at the Wayne County Fairgrounds. This was our second year of attending this show as a club (the Motor City Galaxie Club won the club participation award at Dearborn 2008!), and our first of two July events. The Dearborn 2009 car show was a great time, and the 600-vendor swap meet, food, bathrooms, etc. helped make for a great day. The free air show from the Willow Run Airport was an added bonus, until it came time to leave! The car show was FREE, with each show car occupant paying only $5 admission at the gate.
Good weather was enjoyed by all. The third Galaxie Gathering of 2009 was a lot of fun, thanks to the 10 club members and 3 spouses who attended the show with 8 Galaxies, 3 other Fords and 1 Mercury:
