| Galaxie Gathering Number 16 was held on Monday, May 26, 2008 (Memorial Day) at 9:00 am as part of the Classic Legends Car Club 18th Annual Memorial Day Car Show at the Brighton High School, 7878 Brighton Road, Brighton, Michigan, 48116 (point “B” on the map below). We assembled between 9:00 am and 9:30 am in the Target parking lot just west of the bank on the northwest corner of West Grand River Avenue and Challis Road (point “A” on the map below) and then we drove the parade route to the show, and were able to park at the show together. Here's the map:
Despite a weather forecast that predicted a 70% chance of scattered thunderstorms, it wound up being a beautiful sunny day with temperatures around 85 deg F by the time the show was over in the mid-afternoon, and not a drop of rain was seen! There were 17 club members and 7 spouses in attendance, and we signed up 1 new club member who joined at the show - welcome Joe Bolek and his 1966 Galaxie 500 2-door hardtop! There were 15 Galaxies and 1 pickup truck on display.
