The 9th Annual Galaxie Nationals is being held at the Hyatt Regency Dearborn in Dearborn, Michigan on Friday August 12, Saturday August 13 and Sunday August 14, 2005. Please note that the net proceeds from this event are being donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

As of 8/9/05, there are 136 cars (127 Galaxies and 9 other Fords) registered for the 2005 Galaxie Nationals car show on Saturday!!!

85 cars from MI, 7 from Ontario, Canada, 6 from OH, 5 from IN, 5 from WI , 4 from FL, 4 from KS, 4 from MO, 4 from PA, 3 from IL, 2 from KY, 2 from NY, 1 from AZ, 1 from IA, 1 from MN, 1 from NJ, and 1 from SC

Additionally, there are 302 people attending the Banquet & Awards Dinner and Oldies Dance on Saturday evening!!

Friday, August 12th is the day to arrive at the Hyatt Regency Dearborn and finalize the registration of your car, check into your room, clean you car, and relax before the weekend. A Hospitality Suite will be in operation to help you meet old and new friends alike. Possible activities for later in the day include a tour of the Dearborn Truck Plant, home of the Ford F-150 and Lincoln Mark LT pickup trucks, and a trip to a local cruise-in that typically draws 400 cars. In the evening, some people are planning to attend a local cruise-in, located in the Sears parking lot at the northeast corner of Southfield Road and Dix Highway. At night you can sleep easy, as there will be around-the-clock security provided to protect your car while you slumber!

Saturday, August 13th is the BIG car show, held during the day in the parking lot of the Hyatt Regency Dearborn. Any and all Galaxies and Ford-powered vehicles are welcome to attend the show, and membership in the Motor City Galaxie Club is not required. Registration will take place from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. At-the-door registration will cost $25.00 if you want to have your car judged, and $10.00 if you don't. Many door prizes and raffle prizes will be awarded during the course of the day. Again, a Hospitality Suite will be in operation to help you meet old and new friends alike, along with a host of special activities just for the ladies. An outdoor bar-b-queue will be available from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, with a wide variety of delicious hot and cold foods to eat. Awards will be presented at 3:30 pm. In the evening is the Banquet & Awards Dinner and Oldies Dance. Doors open at 6:00 pm, with dinner served at 7:00 pm. Bring your appetite and your dancing shoes - it'll be a blast!

Sunday, August 14th is a cruise up the famed Woodward Avenue, with brunch at a restaurant along the way. We will begin to assemble in the hotel parking lot at 9:00 am, and depart at 10:00 am. Come join what is sure to be the largest parade of Galaxies to ever hit Woodward Avenue!

The area around the Hyatt Regency Dearborn offers many additional venues of interest for us old car lovers, such as The Henry Ford (encompassing the Henry Ford Museum, Greenfield Village, IMAX Theatre, the Rouge Factory Tour, and the Benson Ford Research Center), the Henry Ford Estate, the Edsel & Eleanor Ford House, the Automotive Hall of Fame, the Detroit Historical Museum, the Ypsilanti's Automotive Heritage Museum & Miller Motors Hudson, The Detroit Institute of Arts, the Walter P. Chrysler Museum, the Motorsports Museum & Hall of Fame, and GM World, to name just a few.

The 2005 Galaxie Nationals is the weekend immediately proceeding the 11th Annual Woodward Dream Cruise , scheduled for Saturday, August 20, 2005. The week leading up to the 2005 Woodward Dream Cruise (the week immediately following the 2005 Galaxie Nationals) will see lots of cruising activity on Woodward Avenue. The host hotel for the 2005 Galaxie Nationals is the beautiful 4-star Hyatt Regency Dearborn, located at 600 Town Center Drive, adjacent to the Fairlane Town Center, in Dearborn, Michigan.
